Sick Day 3 (more or less)

Had a couple of wake up calls during the evening: blood draws (every 4 hours) at 11:45PM, 4:15AM, vitals check at 5:30AM, blood again at 7:40AM and 8:10AM (we need to re-check???). After all the interruptions got up at 9:45AM - good timing, nurse came in and informed me I had been moved up to 10:00AM for the endoscopy. Hoping that they find and cauterize the bleeder so I can go get a Susie Burger Philly Cheesesteak sandwich and head home. Want to get to Tahoe for at least one night see the Chmiels while they are here and meet Matthew.

Parents came for a visit and while they were here the handsome doctor (partner to the Luddite) came to talk about my results and next steps. There was one small ulcer 5mm plus swelling in the throat, gastroenteritis and duodenitis. In other words, nothing to explain the kind of blood loss I had exhibited. Therefore, it was time for a colonoscopy (same process but start in the rectum instead of the mouth).

Around 5:00PM my brother, sister-in-law and nephew came by for a visit. The company was nice and since I was seated at the window playing on my iPad; hopefully, my nephew will be a little less freaked out by hospitals. Asked the doctor if blood draws every 4 hours were necessary (the 5th draw hit a sore spot from a previous draw). He said how about once at 6:30AM. I'm cool with that.

At 6:30PM my nurse brought my GoLytely and I pound down my 2 liters to start the nasty part of the colonoscopy. 30-minutes later first trip to the bathroom and one pair of soiled hospital PJ bottoms. This promises to be a long night. Repeated at 8:00AM 😱😭. Typing up some Journal entries, play some iPad games, music/videos maybe some TV to get through the... Gotta go gotta go gotta goes!

NOTE: prepare your area: clear traffic path, set up entertainment, put towels down where you will be sitting or laying and don't wait. At the first sign of movement, hit the toilet, you'll NEVER arrive early.
