In 2000, just 8 years ago, the Knight Initiative won 61%-39% defining Marriage as between a Man and a Woman. In 2008, just 4 of 7 Justices on the CA Supreme Court ruled this violated California's Constitution and they were decried as Activists judges.

As someone else in Sacramento has already posted, they weren't activists, they were judges doing their job. Last night, California proved they aren't even much in front of the general population. In an election that saw the opposition spend $36 million to pass Prop 8. Having achieved that victory by 52%-48.7%.

Well I see this as a victory for us, California came extremely close to proving that the voting public can and in the end will have to legalize gender neutral marriage.

With Barrack in the White House, if we can overturn Gays in the Military, then we will reach a large body of under-educated potential voters that will increasingly be our friends and our allies.

Last night was a HUGE win for GLBT community, even if it wasn't the Hail Mary touchdown we hoped to achieve.
