Okay reading my own blog can be a little depressing. A whole month has gone by already. Well update time. Maybe I am busier than I thought.
The first date was with a guy that is a foot taller than I. I have for some time known that I wanted someone that is within say two inches of my height, taller or shorter, but I am also determined not to set absolute values on many things.
We agree to meet for drinks. He drives back from The City and gets back a little late. We meet but he is tired and the conversation doesn’t flow very well. After 45 minutes the date is over and we both know it will not be repeated.
The second date is the next night. I drive out to Roseville and to pick him up. He is waiting for me in the hall. We say hello and he turns off the TV by unplugging it. As we head out he limps along behind me (a fact that he hadn’t mentioned). We go to dinner and he answers my questions but never starts a conversation on his own. I am thinking damn this is hard work. After a slow meal and lugubrious conversation my date and I go to the movies.
My roommate screwed up and called in passes for the movie, but Triple X is still in it’s first week of release and so the passes were no good. Our only option was that movie Master of Disguise. The only thing good about this movie is that it is only 65 minutes long. I felt horrible. Here I was not having a very good time and then I subject this poor guy to an absolute atrocity of cinema. I was sure I would be obligated to two more unpleasant dates just to make up for this nightmare.
After the movie ended, we went to the gay bars downtown since my date had never been there. At The Depot I introduced him to the guys I knew who in turn introduced him to their friends. All in all, we did not have too bad an experience. One of my acquaintances found out that we had met on the ‘net and that my date knew more about me than he did. My acquaintance gave my date his number so they could talk (I am thinking “Oh yeah! This is gonna be great!”). After a short time here we moved across the street to Faces to check it out. Again introduced my date to my friends and showed him around the dance club. He had a good time, which is slightly unfortunate because he will not be going back with me.
So ends my two internet induced dates.
